Description
PHILIPS Economy LED Floodlight Series BVP118 G2
The second-generation economy LED floodlight: one die-cast aluminium body, six wattages, three colour temperatures and an integrated driver-on-board — 900 to 18,000 lumens at 90 lm/W for facades, billboards, forecourts and sports areas.
The BVP118 G2 is the entry tier of the PHILIPS LED floodlight range we stock in China: an aluminium die-cast body sealed to IP65, a driver built onto the LED board so there is no external driver box to mount, and a short U-bracket that swings through 300° for aiming. Optics and light output are identical to the BVP118 G1 it replaces — what changed is the housing, which is smaller at all six wattages, and the bracket. All 18 order codes below are held as one family, so a project can be specified from 10W sign lighting up to 200W car-park lighting without mixing brands or colour temperatures. Manufacturer data for the global BVP118 family sits in the Philips outdoor and floodlighting catalogue.
Why Specify the BVP118 G2
Die-cast aluminium, IP65 and IK05
One die-cast aluminium shell for the whole family: RAL9005 paint, IP65 seal, IK05 impact rating. Every wattage passes a 200-hour salt-spray test — the line that decides coastal and humid sites.
Six wattages, three colour temperatures
10, 30, 50, 100, 150 and 200W in 3000K, 4000K and 6500K — 900 lm to 18,000 lm at a constant 90 lm/W, so one family covers signage, facade and area lighting.
DoB driver, 0.9 power factor
Driver on board: no external enclosure, no junction box. 220-240V straight into the 150mm silicone cable, power factor 0.9, surge protection from 0.5kV/1kV up to 2kV/4kV.
300° bracket, smaller housing
Short U-bracket with a single-screw lock replaces the G1 bolt hinge and gives 300° of aiming. The housing shrinks at every wattage — the 100W is now 257 × 225 × 26mm overall.

BVP118 G2 vs BVP118 G1 — What Changed
Photometrics and electrical specifications are carried over unchanged. The differences are mechanical: bracket design and housing volume.
| Specification | BVP118 G1 | BVP118 G2 |
|---|---|---|
| Mounting bracket | Long U-bracket, through-bolt hinge | Short U-bracket, single-screw lock |
| Aiming range | Limited tilt | 300° rotation |
| Overall size, 10W | 103 × 87 × 28 mm | 97 × 88 × 24 mm |
| Overall size, 100W | 274 × 236 × 30 mm | 257 × 225 × 26 mm |
| Overall size, 200W | 405 × 331 × 31.5 mm | 385 × 315 × 29 mm |
| Luminous efficacy | 90 lm/W | 90 lm/W — unchanged |
| Colour temperature | 3000K / 4000K / 6500K | 3000K / 4000K / 6500K — unchanged |
| Driver | DoB, driver on board | DoB, driver on board — unchanged |
Smaller overall dimensions do not mean a smaller mounting footprint — check bracket hole spacing on your existing soffit before ordering a direct G1 replacement.
Where the BVP118 G2 Fits
One product family, six wattages — matched to the mounting height and the surface being lit.
Residential
Garden and driveway lighting, gate posts and low residential facades. 10W and 30W at 2-3m, usually in 3000K warm white where the brief is atmosphere rather than visibility. IK05 absorbs accidental knocks and the RAL9005 finish disappears against dark timber and stone.
Commercial
Shop signs, light boxes, billboard faces and forecourts. 30W to 100W covers channel letters and signage at 3-6m with no driver box to hide inside a narrow sign frame; 150W and 200W take over on forecourts and warehouse aprons.
Public Space
Multi-use games areas, park paths, village squares and car parks. 100W to 200W with 110° optics at 5-8m, 4000K or 6500K. Surge protection rises to 2kV/4kV on the two largest wattages for sites feeding gates, pumps or vehicle chargers.
Choosing Between the BVP118 G2, BVP150 G4 and BVC010
Three floodlight families cover three different briefs. If budget is the constraint, BVP118 G2 is the answer; if it is not, the other two are worth a look before you order.
PHILIPS Economy LED Floodlight BVP118 G2
Entry tier. 10W-200W, 90 lm/W, DoB driver, IP65 / IK05, 300° bracket. Best value per lumen for signage, small facades and forecourts.
Higher tierPHILIPS BVP150 G4 LED Floodlight
From 8W to 200W with a separate PSU driver and a wider accessory range — specify this when the project needs dimming, longer cable runs or a higher-end finish.
Off-gridPHILIPS Essential SmartBright Solar Flood BVC010
Solar floodlight from 6W to 60W with an integrated panel and battery — use it where there is no mains supply, or where trenching cable costs more than the fitting.
