Description
PHILIPS Suspended LED Classroom Light Series SP130S
1195 × 295 × 57 mm rectangular suspended LED panel with anti-glare micro-prismatic diffuser, UGR < 19, Ra > 95, IP40, engineered by Signify for K-12 classrooms, lecture halls, reading rooms and training centers.
Feature Highlights
UGR < 19 Anti-Glare
PS micro-prismatic light guide plate delivers UGR < 19 in standard tests and ≤ 16 in classroom mock-up simulations — well below EN 12464-1 limits for teaching spaces.
Flicker-Free Performance
PST < 1, SVM < 0.4, modulation depth < 0.2% — eliminates the invisible flicker of fluorescent tubes that causes eye strain during long lessons.
High Color Rendering
Ra > 95 and R9 > 90 keep textbook colors, skin tones and whiteboard content accurate — critical for art, science and reading comprehension.
IP40, 50,000 h Lifetime
IP40 dust- and insect-proof housing plus 50,000 h L70B50 @ Ta 25°C — maintenance-free operation through typical 10-year school renovation cycles.
Application Scenarios
SP130S is a single-luminaire solution for classrooms, lecture halls, libraries, science labs, art rooms and corporate training centers — below are official Signify application references with recommended room layouts.

K-12 Classrooms
Primary and secondary classrooms. The 1195 × 295 mm body mounts cleanly above desks with 9 or 12 units per 9.2 × 7.0 m room. UGR < 19 (≤ 16 in classroom mock-up), Ra > 95 and R9 > 90 keep handwriting, textbooks and skin tones natural; 4000 K or 5000 K CCT matches local curriculum preference.

Multimedia & Lecture Halls
Multimedia classrooms, lecture halls and e-reading rooms with projector screens and cameras. Flicker metrics PST < 1, SVM < 0.4 and modulation depth < 0.2% eliminate banding on recorded video and projected content, while the batwing 94.6° beam spreads light evenly over desktops.

Installation & Mounting Guide
SP130S is a Class II (double-insulated), IP40 luminaire designed for rigid suspended mounting. Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician with the mains supply switched off; the optical surface (PS diffuser) must be protected during installation. The light source is non-user-replaceable.
Official Mounting Instructions

Drill locating holes in the ceiling at the planned suspension positions (~650 mm rod spacing) and bolt the fixing brackets firmly to the ceiling structure.
Pass the mains supply cable through the centre hole of the ceiling mounting cap before assembly.
Screw the suspension rods into the threaded seats of the ceiling cap and pre-tighten with the hex nuts.
Align the mounting ears on the rear of the luminaire body with the rod ends, push into place and secure the fixing clips.
With the mains supply switched off, connect the wiring to the terminals (L / N / PE) as shown on the luminaire label. Double-check polarity before power-up.
Adjust the luminaire to hang perfectly level, then finally tighten all hex nuts and lock the assembly.
